July 3, 2008 - Central, Texas, TX: With the recently announced impending relocation of AT&T from San Antonio to Dallas one has to ask what the future holds for the San Antonio based AT&T Championship that is currently held at Oak Hills in the fall. Tournament officials state that they have had no indication that AT&T has any plans to change their support for the tournament. The AT&T Championship is rumored to moving to the TPC of San Antonio which has a targeted opening year of 2010. The TPC is also going to be the new venue for the Valero Texas Open. The Champions Tour Austin Classic lost their sponsor this year when FEDEX-Kinkos pulled their support obstensibly due to their large involvement in the FEDEX Cup.Tournament officials are confident they will find a new sponsor. < staff report > |
