March 7, 2005: The third annual
Lifegate Falcons Golf Tournament is on for Saturday, April 23rd
at San Antonio’s Woodlake Country Club. A field of 64 golfers is
expected to participate and enjoy the fun to help Lifegate
Christian School raise funds for the school’s athletic program.
The previous two
tournaments raised over $8,000 which helped the school start its
varsity six-man football program and purchase new varsity
basketball uniforms. Among plans for the 2005 proceeds will be
starting a junior high six-man football program and helping to
defray other athletic expenses.
The tournament is
a four-person scramble, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Registration starts at 7:00 a.m., and lunch and awards will
follow.
Team and
individual player openings are available. Golfers can register in

or on the day of the tournament, space permitting.
Golfers compete
for team prizes, including $150 to each of the winning net score
team. Other prizes will be given to lowest gross score and
longest drive.
Soechting Motors
of Seguin will offer a chance at a GMC Truck valued at $20,000 for
a hole-in-one on a selected hole and other prizes. Lifegate
athletes and the Lifegate cheerleaders will be on hand to help out
duffers with “Mulligan” tickets for $5 each.
Woodlake Country
Club is located at 6500 Woodlake Parkway, just off FM 78 in San
Antonio
Lifegate Christian
School students compete in varsity and middle school sports,
including six-man football, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading
and track and field. The Lifegate Lady Falcons Volleyball team is
the two-time defending TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and
Parochial Schools) Class A State Champion, while boys’ teams
competed in the football and basketball playoffs.
Lifegate Christian
