LPGA Rookies (and San Antonio natives) Christi Cano
and Kim Hall are starting to get rolling!

San Antonio, Texas, April 19, 2006: For any LPGA Rookie it is one day at a time and each day brings with it new obstacles for our hometown girls. The life of a LPGA Rookie is not all of the glitz and glamour that some would assume. Rather, it is a day to day struggle to find time to practice, cold call potential donors, and maintain relationships with current sponsors.

Our girls are gaining ground though! Christi Cano has secured unpaid sponsorships with Cleveland Golf and Antigua Clothing. Cleveland will be supplying her with her bag and clubs while Antigua is supplying her with all of her apparel. She continues to raise funds to help pay for the paramount expenses for the 2006 LPGA Tour including travel and lodging.

Kim Hall is also forging forward! Kim and D'Rae Ward hosted Busch Series Rookies Joel Kauffman and Tracy Hines at The Trophy Club. They gave the race team a quick lesson on the driving range before heading to the course for a round of golf. Then they spent the day at Texas Motor Speedway, site of the O'Reilly 300 Busch race, to experience a day-in-the-life of a NASCAR driver.  While there they attended the team sponsor's hospitality for a meet and greet and autograph session, the mandatory pre-race driver's meeting and then watched the O'Reilly 300 Busch race from the team's pit box on pit road. The LPGA rookies served as “honorary pit crew members” for each team. You can see pictures of the entire event at lpga.com.
