Subject: Optimist Junior Golf Qualifier Tournament on Monday, June 13, 2005

Location: Northern Hills Country Club 13202 Scarsdale, San Antonio, TX. (210-655-8026).

General Information:   We will have a shotgun start at 8:00 A.M. Range balls will be provided for warm up.  In case of 1^st place ties, a sudden death playoff will be held.  Lunch will be provided for Golfers (Parents and Guests purchase on their own).   

DISTRICT QUALIFYING CRITERIA:                                                           
TEE MARKERS (Yards)

16-18 Boys   Top 8% of field shooting 78 or better                                        Blue             6,800

16-18 Girls   Any who shoot 85 or better                                                       Yellow       6,000

14-15 Boys   Top 8% of field shooting 83 or better                                        White         6,500

14-15 Girls   Any who shoot 90 or better                                                        Red            5,500

* * WINNERS of the 16-18 age groups will be sponsored for registration, lodging, and meals ($560) to our Optimist International Junior Golf Championships (OIJGC) at the PGA National Resort and SPA, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Schedule at the OIJGC:

Ages 14-15 July 21-25, and Ages 16-18 July 26-31, 2005

** ALL WINNERS and QUALIFIERS must see me after the tournament. We have to complete applications for the OIJGC, and to meet deadline dates.

** WINNERS must send their completed applications to me prior to 24 June, 2005 (DO NOT send to St. Louis)

** Qualifiers must send their completed applications and fees to St. Louis prior to 24 June, 2004.

In addition, winners and runners-up will receive an invitation to the inaugural Optimist International Tournament of Champions. The inaugural championship event will take place December 9-11, 2005, at Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami, Florida. This invitation-only tournament will be a 36-hole event for male and female junior golfers ages 14-18. Boys will compete in either the 14-15 or 16-18 age divisions while a single girls division will be offered for ages 14-18.
